Ingredient Options for Dogs with Medical Conditions

SHORT BOWEL SYNDROME FORMULATIONS

(CALORIE DISTRIBUTION: Protein 40%; Fat 15%; Carbohydrates 45%)

The higher protein content with the right amount of fat to control the symptoms of these conditions make our recipes far tastier than typical veterinary diets designed for the same purpose. Due to the nature of targeted medical formulations, they may not meet AAFCO or NRC standards and should ONLY be used under the guidance of your veterinarian.

This meal plan needs a high fiber content to manage the diarrhea associated with short bowel syndrome so it includes psyllium fiber.

MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS WHEN USING
SHORT BOWEL SYNDROME FORMULATIONS

(ANY INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTION IN OUR RECIPES WILL RESULT IN NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES)

Although these meal plans are very low in fat and high in fiber, they are not a substitute for medical monitoring or intervention. Your dog should be checked regularly based on your veterinarian's recommendations.

We offer advice on meal plan preparation, storage and feeding directions. All medical concerns about your dog's diet need to be discussed between you and your veterinarian.
